Dramaturgy for children and youth in our country is in an enormously rich moment. There are many authors, and especially female authors, who have been developing high-quality, risky dramatic literature, with new languages, that speaks to boys and girls, without taboos, about the reality that they share. 

The nature of the audience to which this theater is aimed makes a commitment necessary to put an end to infantilization and didacticism, proposing proposals of artistic quality. Reflecting on how we address children and youth requires an open and shared view. It is an issue that involves playwrights, but also companies, producers, managers, programmers, teachers and researchers. 

For all of the above, we consider it necessary to hold this Dramaturgy Meeting for Children and Youth, which is born from the collaboration between AVEET (Associació Valenciana d'Writers and Theatrical Writers), the Escalante Performing Arts Center and ASSITEJ (Association Internationale du Théâtre pour l'Enfance et la Jeunesse).
